Jagger

Androgynous, gender defiant,
and ambixesual, Jagger has come to symbolize rock from the 60s
and 70s.
Look-alike ex-wife Bianca once
claimed he married her because "he wanted to achieve the
ultimate by making love to himself."
Jagger was born in Dartford,
England, July 26, 1944.
When he was five, he met Keith
Richards at primary school but it would be years later before
they realized their mutual love of music. It came when they
bumped into each other on a train platform and Richards
noticed the stash of American blues records under Jagger's
arm.
It was the beginning of a
collaboration that would see Jagger leave his studies at the
London School of Economics.
With a third friend, Brian
Jones, they formed a band. Soon they were joined by Bill Wyman
and Charlie Watts. The group began performing around London
and took their name from a Muddy Waters blues song ("Well
my mother told my father, Just before I was born, 'I gotta
boy-child comin, Gonna be a Rollin' Stone.'")
The Stones achieved success in
England, but didn't explode in the States until the release of
the single "Satisfaction," off their second album.
They took America by storm, perfecting their rebellious
personas in front of the entire nation via Ed Sullivan's
stage.
Jones, Jagger, and Richards
were all arrested in 1967 on trumped-up drug charges, and
Jagger was sentenced to three months in prison; the charges
were eventually reduced, but the lurid details of the Rolling
Stones' lifestyle that emerged during the trial only served to
fuel their bad-boy image.
His blurred sexuality made him
one of the most desired men on the planet, and he has taken
full advantage. His pouting face with large sensual lips, his
lithe androgynous body, and his well packed basket still stand
him well, even in middle age.
